Sure, there are many pages out there with gifts for the Basset Lovers. But I believe that I have a good eye for picking out the most unique and cool merchandise.
Why am I interested in Basset stuff. Well, do you see the basset hound pictured to the left? He lives with my husband and me. His name is Howie and he is 6 years old (as of January 2009).
I know what basset hound collectibles I would like to own, so I am creating a "Wish List" for myself - and hopefully, for YOU, too.
"Basset" is french for dwarf--makes sense to me! Howie looks like a dwarf hound dog. I have also seen the following: Basset is derived from the French word bas, meaning "low", with the attenuating suffix -et, together meaning "rather low".

How To Use This Topiary Frame:
The sectional frames can be placed over a shrub (such as boxwood) that is rooted in the ground and allowed to grow up into the form. You then simply trim the plant to the shape of the form as it grows.
Alternatively, you can fill the bottom of the frame with sphagnum moss and plant a climbing vine into the moss. Train the plant to grow into the upper portion of the frame and you'll have an inexpensive, low maintenance, portable planted topiary form.
